Greyhounds have had some busy days
We have had some busy Greyhounds the last few days and the rest of this week!Last Thursday the JH girls basketball team won the Consolation Championship at the Wesclin 7th grade tournament with a 29-18 win over Breese! Charlotte Ruth and Hayden Venhaus were named to the all-tournament team.This past Saturday the hs boys and girls cross country team ran in the conference cross country meet in Wood River at Belk Park and boy did they all run! 9 out of 10 runners had a personal record that day and the only one who did not, was within 10 seconds of their personal record. Addison Durbin finished 2nd in the Kaskaskia Division and 10th overall earning All-Conference Honors. Addie Allen also medaled placing 10th in the Kaskaskia Division. On the boys side Kaiden Wheeler medaled with a 9th place finish in the Kaskaskia Division. The girls team missed out on winning the Kaskaskia Division Conference Championship by 1 place. Addison Durbin and Addie Allen are headed to Cross Country Sectionals!Congratulations to our cross country teams this past weekend at Regionals.Our runners did a great job pushing themselves and cheering on their teammates. 8th grader, Ava Garbe, placed 3rd overall at Regionals this afternoon and is headed to state this Saturday in DuQuoin!!! All 4 runners set personal records (PR) today which is all you can ask for at the end of the season. Great job all runners and good luck to Ava this weekend!

Athletes of the Week for Sept 8th-12thJH BaseballJamaar Brown is the first player of the week. Over the three games this past week, Jamaar batted .444 with 5 RBI in and 4 stolen bases. He also pitched well on the mound giving us some much needed innings pitched. Isaac Boesen is the second player of the week. Isaac batted .400 with two stolen bases and also giving us a good pitching performance. Both players are competitive and have had good attitudes through throughout the year. JH Softball players of the week are Holland Burress and Allie Hogg.Holland wears the #12 for the Lebanon Greyhounds. She is a hard worker when it comes to any sport she plays. She always gives 110%. Holland is a player that coaches want to have on their team because of her work ethic. In our last game against All Saints Academy, she had 3 plate appearances with 2 hits and 1 RBI. Athletes of the Week for Sept 1st to Sept 5thMy players of the week are Marley Pier and Korie Schwaegel.Marley is an 8th grader and wears the #1 jersey for the Greyhounds. She has been our lead-off batter for every game. She is fast and a smart base runner. Her average is .391, she has 18 hits with 13 singles, 3 doubles, and 2 triples. She is a very important part of our team. Marley can play anywhere on the field, but her two main positions are 2nd base and back-up catcher. She strives to be better at every practice and game. She is a leader and knows the game well. Marley is a multi-sport athlete and she's a great team player to all of her teammates. Congratulations Marley!Korie is a 6th grader and wears the #15 jersey.
