Nice opening night win for the Greyhounds last night.  Taylor Schmitt led us is in scoring with 25pts, while everyone contributed in some significant way for the victory.  Very proud of my inexperienced bench players to be able to step onto the floor and contribute immediately.  Paul Pilackas stepped in to his first varsity start and grabbed 9 rebounds and played solid defense.  Mason Christ and Zach Schoenfeld controlled the paint all night long scoring a combined 15 pts and grabbing a combined 13 rebounds.  Junior Ty Lashley controlled the offense by getting everyone involved and played solid defense on Columbia's point guard all night long.  Zach Grob, Michael Bender, Austin Price and Shane Price logged very important minutes throughout the game.  Zach knocked down a couple of perimeter shots while also attacking the rim.  Michael Bender hit a buzzer beater at the end of the half to give us good momentum going into the locker room at half.  Austin Price came in and gave our post players a good break while contriubuting from the perimeter and junior Shayne Price came in and did what a good pt guard should do, run the offense and not turn the ball over.

It is a long season and this is just 1 game of 30 plus games this season, but I am proud of their effort and team work.  Lets keep it up going up against a tough and athletic Madison team on Saturday.
